Mr. Porter is the most experienced North American immigration lawyer practicing in Southwest Ontario, having practiced U.S. citizenship and immigration law since his call to the State of Michigan Bar in 1988. He is an American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) mentor to other lawyers and has been recognized by AILA for setting precedent in achieving United States E-2 Treaty Investor Status for the benefit of a Canadian citizen physician.
He has practiced Canadian citizenship and immigration law since his call to the Law Society of Upper Canada Bar (Ontario) in 1992 and is certified as a Specialist in Canadian Citizenship and Immigration Law. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association –citizenship and immigration law section.
Mr. Porter has been published with the Ontario Bar Association, presenting his article upon U.S. admissibility. The article addresses U.S. law as it pertains to a foreign national’s ability to lawfully enter the U.S. subsequent to conviction or U.S. immigration infraction.
